YouTube is free and a great visual way for watching or learning from calligraphers from around the globe. There are lots of inspiring calligraphers that upload their videos through their channel.

By creating a free account, you have access to thousands of inspiring photos and videos. With your account you can ‘pin’ photos and videos on ‘boards’. Pinterest is the go-to for cookie recipes, travel, inspiring home décor ideas, photography, calligraphy, artwork and so much more. Each image leads back to a website or where that photo was found. But Pinerest is a great way to ‘pin’ and collect ideas for your next calligraphy piece.

Want to learn or work on your Calligraphy skills? Kalli Camp is a collection of seven calligraphy artists that have created video tutorials and printable worksheets. “Our current class lineup includes writing thank you notes, offhand flourishing and cartouche, intro to brush lettering, hand lettered wood signs, and a modern twist on copperplate.”

Skillshare is an online site that gives you access to all types of online classes and workshops in three main categories: Create; Build and Thrive. Classes are taught by all sorts of people from around the globe to help you gain new skills and connect. The classes are set up as lessons, each lesson is a separate video. You can join the class at any point in time, you can message the teacher(s) and you can discuss with others enrolled in the class. There are lots of calligraphy related videos. So, if you’re looking for unique in-depth classes like learning a unique new hand, how to digitize your physical calligraphy and comprehensive lessons on left-handed calligraphy, just search for it in their search bar.

They currently have a two-month free trial. Two months is plenty of time to gain one or more new skills in your free time!

Domestika is essentially a Spanish version of skill share (just flip on subtitles), but a bit better. Create a free account and you choose what classes you want to purchase individually. Or you can purchase classes in a bundle of closely related classes. In a class you can ask the instructor questions and request feedback about your work.

Udemy is very similar to Domestika. They currently have the largest amount of 150k courses. You buy individual classes and have lifetime access to video courses, resources and a final certification of completion.
